Investing in People, Inspiring a Culture: Celebrating Our Graduates

By Dorah Tlala-Tanor

Yesterday, we celebrated three remarkable colleagues who recently graduated – Tammy, Phaello and Queen.

To mark the occasion, we swapped our office attire for graduation regalia and gathered for an intimate celebration, recognising not only their achievement but also what it represents for our organisation.

This celebration is part of an initiative pioneered and passionately led by our CHRO, Dorah Tlala-Tanot, whose leadership continues to champion education, continuous learning and the development of people. Her belief is simple yet powerful: organisations thrive when they are led by people who never stop learning. Through her persuasive leadership, she continues to inspire employees to embrace learning as a lifelong journey.

At Proconics, learning is one of our core values and a commitment we actively support. Yesterday’s celebration was a reminder that growth is not reserved for one part of the business – it is embraced across every function.

Our support teams are made up of highly qualified, capable professionals whose expertise enables our engineering teams to focus on delivering excellence for our clients. Support functions are not on the sidelines; they are an integral part of our success.

What made the celebration even more inspiring was hearing what comes next. Tammy has already registered to continue her studies, while Phaello and Queen are already exploring their next academic milestones. Their ambition is contagious. By the end of the session, there was a shared sense of motivation throughout the room, with many colleagues inspired to further their own education.

Our learning culture continues to grow. We are proud to have two PhD candidates currently pursuing the highest level of academic achievement, with three more colleagues considering embarking on the same journey.

Congratulations, Tammy, Phaello and Queen. Your achievements remind us that when leaders invest in people, learning becomes part of the culture, ambition becomes infectious, and everyone is inspired to reach higher.
