A Valentine’s Week Celebration of Leadership, Brilliance and Appreciation

Last week, something special happened across ProGroup. Offices countrywide paused their busy schedules to celebrate one person who continues to shape our direction, our culture, and our everyday experience at work our CEO, Melvin Jones.

With his birthday falling on Valentine’s Day, the timing could not have been more fitting. While the day itself was on Saturday, the celebrations carried through the week, creating space for teams across all offices to take part. Cake was shared, songs were sung, and smiles filled the room, all in honour of what many fondly refer to as the “face of Brilliance”.

This was not a formal event or a scheduled programme. It was a people-led moment, driven by a genuine desire to show appreciation. Each office brought its own energy, yet the sentiment was the same everywhere. A collective thank you to a leader who leads with passion, clarity, and purpose.

What made the day memorable was not just the celebration itself, but the meaning behind it. It reflected our Focus as an organisation that takes time to recognise leadership and impact. It demonstrated how we Collaborate across regions, offices, and teams, united by shared values. Most importantly, it highlighted Impact the very real influence Melvin has had on individuals across the business, from professional growth to personal encouragement and belief.

There was also a strong sense of Accountability in the moment. Celebrating leadership that is consistent, values-driven, and present. Leadership that sets the tone not just for performance, but for how people show up for one another. And woven through it all was Growth, seen not only in business outcomes, but in the culture of appreciation and connection that continues to define ProGroup.

Combining a Valentine’s Day birthday with a ProGroup global celebration created a week filled with warmth, laughter, and shared pride. It was informal, heartfelt, and deeply human, a reflection of who we are and how we choose to lead.

Sometimes, it is the simple moments that say the most. Last week was one of those moments.
